If you are suffering from vaginal dryness or bladder instability that can come from menopause or even cancer, Evergreen Gynecology has a treatment option for you. We are the only clinic in Clark County to offer the Mona Lisa Touch laser, a game-changing technology for vaginal health.
What is MonaLisa Touch?
MonaLisa Touch is the name of a laser device that uses fractional C02 energy to elicit healing in the vagina to correct dryness and bladder instability.
How Does it Work?
The device helps stimulates dormant tissue to increase collagen production and blood flow to tissue, which can help with vaginal lubrication.
What Happens During the Procedure?
This painless procedure is performed in our office and takes a little more time than a pap smear. The vaginal laser is encased in a special probe that gently but effectively treats the entire vaginal wall. After the vaginal treatment, the external genitalia (vulva) is treated with a separate probe.
How Long Does the Procedure Take?
For most, the procedure only takes less than 10 minutes. We recommend three treatments approximately 6 weeks apart, and then one treatment annually. After the procedure you can resume normal activities except that you should abstain from sex for two days.
What Are the Side Effects?
This device has not been associated with burns or other adverse effects.
Possible minor side effects may include: Mild vaginal bleeding, pink or brown vaginal discharge, redness, swelling, tenderness, itching, burning upon urination, and discomfort.
